ASSIST. PROF. NAZİFE ÖZGE FERCAN'S PROJECT RECEIVES TÜBİTAK SUPPORT

Our Vice President of the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Assist. Prof. Nazife Özge Fercan's project titled "Evaluation of the Effects of Liquid Wastes that May Occur from Healthcare Institution Debris after the Possible Istanbul Earthquake in Terms of Environmental Geotechnics and Debris Removal Plans and Risk Analysis", in which she will serve as a researcher, has been awarded project support within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 1001-UDAP National Earthquake Research Program Joint Call.

PROF. DR. NİHAL SARIER'S SECOND PATENT WAS REGISTERED AND PUBLISHED

Our Faculty of Engineering academician Prof. Dr. Nihal Sarıer (IKU) and Prof. Dr. Emel Önder Karaoğlu (ITU, Faculty of Textile Technologies and Design)'s second international patent titled "WEBS WITH COAXIAL NANOFIBER STRUCTURE, A TEXTILE PRODUCT CONTAINING THESE WEBS AND A PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF (KOAKSİYEL NANOLİF YAPILI AĞLAR, BU AĞLARI İÇEREN BİR TEKSTİL ÜRÜNÜ VE HAZIRLANMA YÖNTEMİ)” was registered by the UK Patent Office on 15.05.2024 with the number GB2597373.

PROF. DR. NİHAL SARIER'S INVENTION, WHICH CAN MAKE HEAT MANAGEMENT, WAS REGISTERED BY THE UK PATENT OFFICE

The invention of Prof. Dr. Nihal Sarıer, one of the academicians of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Department of Civil Engineering, named "A textile product containing phase change material and method of obtaining it" was accepted and registered by the UK Patent Office.

PROF. DR. NİHAL SARIER'S WORK HAS BEEN REGISTERED AS AN INTERNATIONAL PATENT

The international patent application of the study titled “A Textile Product Containing Phase Change Material and a Method for Obtaining Thereof” led by Prof. Dr. Nihal Sarıer, one of the academicians of the Department of Civil Engineering, has been accepted and a document decision has been made for entry into the UK. The study, which received a national patent in July 2022, aims to obtain a textile product containing a phase change material that performs dynamic heat management thanks to nanofiber networks that can heat management in low, normal, or high-temperature regions.

PEOPLE OF KÜLTÜR PAYING A VISIT TO THE EARTHQUAKE-EFFECTED REGION

Assist. Prof. Edip Seçkin and Assist. Prof. Erdal Coşkun from Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering Earthquake Damage Assessment and Evaluation Team, paid a visit the earthquake-effected region between 8-12 March 2023 with the IKU Rectorate entrusted mission of analysing and evaluating the aftermath of the earthquake that occurred in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces.

“A Textile Product Containing a Phase Changing Material and Its Obtaining Method" Patent Application Accepted

A patent was decided to grant by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office for the application titled "A Textile Product Containing Phase Change Material and Its Production Method", dated 25/09/2019, numbered 2019/14584 and referenced KULTUR/09, which is one of the outputs of the TÜBİTAK 1001 Project numbered 213M281 carried out by Assist. Prof. Dr. Nihal Sarıer from the Department of Civil Engineering. 

The Department of Civil Engineering Received MÜDEK Accreditation

Istanbul Kultur University, Faculty of Engineering Department of Civil Engineering English, and Turkish Programs, which were evaluated by the MÜDEK Engineering Education Programs Accreditation Board in the 2021-2022 evaluation period, were accredited to be valid from 01.05.2022 until 30.09.2024, and MÜDEK Accreditation and EUR-ACE label certificates have been granted.
